According to The Guardian today 11 Government ministers are contradicting policy by campaigning against NHS closures, including the Solcitor General Mike O'Brien over the proposed cuts at George Eliot Hospital in Nuneaton.
The embattled ministers are:

- Hazel Blears - Labour Party Chairman
- John Reid - Home Secretary
- Tessa Jowell - Culture Secretary
- Harriet Harman - Constitutional Affairs Minister
- Jacqui Smith - Chief Whip
- Phil Woolas - Communities and Local Government Minister
- Ivan Lewis - Health Minister
- Derek Twigg - Defence Minister
- Joan Ryan - Immigration Minister
- James Plaskitt - Work and Pensions Minister
